Topologically different types of the phase behavior occur in certain regions of material parameters. These regions are separated by manifolds of boundary states. The space of material parameters (or some combinations thereof) along with regions of types of phase behavior and manifolds of boundary states is called the global phase diagram. The figure shows the global phase diagram of one of the simplest equations of state - the Redlich-Kwong equation. For details see the paper.
