The SETAC
Europe Central & East Branch (SETAC EU C&E Branch) has been founded at
a meeting on 16. April 2004 in Prague. The ad-hoc council was
composed of the following persons:

On 26-27
November 2004 the “1st Conference of SETAC Europe Central
& East branch” was held in Prague.
The aim of this
Conference was to put together scientist and practitioners from the fields of
environmental science, policy and education, LCA and Life Cycle thinking, waste
management and sustainability. The Conference was designed to encourage the
exchange of ideas and knowledge and to strengthen communication and cooperation
between environmental researchers and diverse groups of the scientific
community (managers, regulators, policy-makers, and academia) concerned by
current issues in environment of Central and East European region.
In 2004 the
constitution has been drafted and will be presented to SETAC Europe council for
approval in 2005. At 1st Conference of SETAC Europe Central
& East branch the
first General Assembly of SETAC EU C&E took a place. All participants were
informed about new Constitution of organisation, which was formally established
in Prague, according
to Czech law system. General Assembly has appointed and voted new Council of
society. Later the Council appointed its representants.
