Utilisation of LPG in the Czech Republic

Liquified petroleum gas (LPG) is modern and ecological fuel. LPG is very important for energy supply of industry. The consumption of LPG in the Czech Republic is 285 thousand ton. The consumption in the Czech Republic significantly overrun the production of LPG and this deficiency has to be imported. The main problem in utilization of LPG is corrosive effect of sulphur compounds. These compounds have to be eliminated during the production. The main methods for eliminated sulphur compounds are alkaline refining, hydrogen desulphurization, process Girbotol and process Merox.
