The demand for the natural gas depends on the weather, because the natural gas is used for the heating in the winter. A transport of the natural gas from long-distances is efficient only in case the supply is constant. An underground storage of the natural gas is used for levelling of differences between supply and demand of the natural gas. In underground environment, the gas is stored either in porous reservoirs or in cavities build in salt formation or rock.
