Chelates of Ni²⁺ and Zn²⁺ ions with alkyl azinyl ketoximes facilitate hydrolysis of alkanoates, their hydrolytic efficiency being remarkable in several cases. To explain the observed differences in their reactivity, several properties (composition, stability, acidity and nucleophilicity) of the chelates were investigated.
