The significance and problems of chemical modelling in chemical analysis are discussed. SolEq™ is a software package made for teaching of chemical equilibria, which covers, in individual modules, principles and applications of acid-base, oxidation-reduction, precipitation and complex-forming equilibria in homogeneous and heterogeneous systems. Main features of the program as well as its potentials and weakpoints are described in detail.
