Optimum conditions are described for the determination of the toxic pesticide 2-methyl-4,6-dinitrophenol using differential pulse polarography at a classical dropping mercury electrode after preliminary separation and preconcentration using solid phase extraction in Lichrolut EN (200 mg) SPE column. The limit of determination is around 2.109 mol l-1 both for drinking and river water.
