DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY
Research characteristics
These pages are out of date, please use New pages.
Research in our Department consists mainly in chemical thermodynamics and its application to description of selected properties of chemical systems and phenomena. We do both experiments and critical compilation of our own as well as literature data (including creating databases). The results are used in development of prediction methods. There are also theoretical and computational groups at out Department. The list of our activities follows:
- Thermodynamics properties of pure compounds
- Phase equilibria and thermodynamics of solutions including associating and complexing equilibria
- Phenomena at phase interfaces and in membranes
- Chemical equilibria
- Statistical thermodynamics of fluids and molecular simulations
